Finding solutions to the housing affordability crisis

Hello, Housing is one of the most important issues in America today. Most places do not have enough affordable housing, and the crisis is forcing the hands of politicians across the country. The issue is even helping shape Joe Biden's reelection campaign. I'm proud of Vox's work to help our readers understand this complicated issue and bring potential solutions to the foreground of the discussion, and I wanted to highlight a few recent examples. Senior policy reporter Rachel Cohen has written widely on housing, covering the rise of tent encampments, evictions, and the nation's housing supply shortage. In the last month, Rachel has written about the biggest Supreme Court case on homelessness in decades and a plan to convert abandoned shopping malls into hundreds of thousands of badly needed homes. Our flagship daily news podcast Today, Explained also took a closer look at the housing market in a recent series, and I think it's worth your time. |
