Homeless encampments. California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an executive order calling on state officials to begin taking down homeless encampments. The Democrat's move drafts off a recent decision by the conservative-dominated US Supreme Court. How to help the unhoused is a major issue in the US, particularly on the West Coast. Advocates who help people struggling to find housing are angry at the move, which is already being used in San Francisco. This is an interesting, developing story to keep an eye on. More. Attack mode. Republicans are working hard to define Vice President Kamala Harris. Former President Donald Trump said he wasn't going to be nice to her and made at least 10 false claims about her and her record, according to CNN's fact-check team. Among them is Trump's claim that Harris wants to outlaw red meat. False. Meeting Netanyahu. Harris came under criticism from Republicans for skipping Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to lawmakers in DC on Wednesday. But she did meet with Netanyahu on Thursday. Harris has expressed support for Israel but also spoken up for Palestinians.
